It inspired me to create this post because there's so much to do and see in Georgetown. Now, two years living in D.C. doesn't make me an expert but I'm sharing with you guys a few must see and do spots there. Some are still on my to-do list for this summer and some have become my favorites.

When in Georgetown...
Walk along the C&O Canal
I did a few pictures there during the fall but it's even more beautiful when the weather is warm. It's a cute pathway perfect for walking, running or just sitting down to enjoy the scenery.
Homes
Walking around and seeing all the homes in Georgetown is a must. Not just for taking stoop pictures like me but there are some historic houses there. Some have been homes of famous people including JFK while he was running for president. The houses are beautifully structured with pretty designs and colors. Some houses can even go for a million dollars in Georgetown!
Shop
Comparing Georgetown to NY, it reminds me a lot of Soho. There are so many stores to shop in. From high-end to stores you can snag a bargain at like TJMaxx, are all there. One of my favorite second-hand stores is there as well, Buffalo Exchange.
Lunch & Sweets
Georgetown has many places to grab a bite. I'm not an expert in the food department so check this list out. There are a few restaurants along the waterfront on my list to try and enjoy the beautiful view. If you follow me on Instagram then you recently saw I went to lunch at Le Pain Quotidien in Georgetown. The food was so healthy, so good and Instagram worthy! Haha!
If you have a big sweet tooth like me then there are many stores to satisfy that craving. There's Georgetown Cupcakes, but be prepared to make a line, there's also Baked and Wired and the new Laduree store that open for your macaroon fix. Don't expect to be the only person to be eating in these places because I've passed by at different hours and all three are just always crowded.
Water Activities on the Potomac River
This is something my husband has been trying to get me to do, but I'm not as adventurous as him. During the warmer months, you can go to Key Bridge Boathouse and rent kayaks and canoes along the Georgetown waterfront. There's even paddleboarding lesson on the water which is so cool. Maybe one day I won't chicken out and try some of these water activities.
Shop my look:
Excuse my eyes in these pictures if they look a little droopy but allergy season is in full effect and they have been getting the best of me. Hope you guys enjoyed this Georgetown post. Feel free to add more Georgetown activities if you know of any in the comments!

DeleteI used to live in Washington, DC and I loved going out to Georgetown. I don't know if they still do it, but Georgetown Cupcakes used to tweet a secret flavor each day that was not on the menu. If you ordered it by name, you got it for free.
ReplyDeleteHi Nina! Yes they still do. I'm actually new to D.C. only been here for 2 years but every time I go to Georgetown Cupcakes the line is too long. I have yet to taste the rave, haha! Have a great weekend!
