It's that time of year... New York Fashion Week! It's one of my favorite times of the year to visit New York, meet up with friends, share my favorite looks, and attend shows to see amazing collections down the runway. NYFW is February is the hardest because man oh man that cold harsh weather can be tough especially going from show to show. Weather aside it's a fun time of the year for me and this year I did it as a mom for the first time. It felt so hard leaving my favorite little person for a week and it's the longest I ever been away from her. I hope one day she sees this as an example that she can follow her dreams and pursue whatever makes her heart happy just like her mom did.
For day one the weather wasn't as bad and my look to Indonesian Diversity was one of my favorites. I wore a faux leather skirt with a printed jacket and over the knee boots. These OTK boots where my savor through out my whole trip. They are comfortable to walk in, and a nice stylish touch to any look, plus they kept me warm. I wore my favorite hosiery brand, Berkshire underneath which held everything in place. Ha! A lot of you on Instagram commented on my coat so much and guess what guys this little printed gem is from Old Navy. I love their outerwear selection! I always find a gem or two. When I put this look together it was not meant for day one but one thing I learned over the years of attending fashion week is that nothing ever goes as planned and just go with the flow!

The Show

The show consisted of four amazing Indonesian designers showing their Fall/Winter 2019 collection. Some of these looks I wanted to rip off the runway so bad. The designs were amazing, great use of color, so many different patterns and fabrics. I also loved the headpieces. I always wanted to rock a Hijab I think they are both so cultural and so pretty.
The designers:
Dian Pelangi - This one was my absolutely favorite. The women wore hijabs and the looks were modern with a mix of sporty street style. The dresses were layered with a jackets and clinched belts. The colors were a nice mix of pinks, yellows and blacks.
Alleira Batik - This collection was more sophisticated and consisted of beautiful flowy dresses. I would definitely say this entire collection was wearable!
Itang Yunasz - This collection had more traditional Indonesian print with amazing details. The turbans were also from the traditional fabric but man they were gorgeous!
2 Madison Avenue - This collection was my second favorite. I love the use of all the colors especially the hot pink. The designs and headpieces were totally out there. Bold statement pieces for sure!
