I never use to like a brown and black combination but when this outfit came together I was really feeling the color scheme. I was having one of "those days" this weekend where I just had nothing to wear and didn't like anything I tried on. Somehow I put this simple look together and ended up loving it. It doesn't get any more simple that a crisp white button down. This plain white button down has saved me quite a few times when trying to figure out what to wear. It makes a great base and starting point for an outfit. I paired it with black denim and the most comfortable booties I own. I got these from Shoedazzle last winter and they are still going strong! The weather over the weekend was amazing so not many layers were needed to leave the house. I wore a brown faux leather jacket which my mother-in law had given me a few months back. I just love her! To finish the look I added a gold layered necklace which gave the outfit the little umph it needed. 

Next time you have "nothing to wear" start with a basic piece as your base and that will help you put a outfit together. It sure worked for me!
