This is my last travel post for the week. Our last stop was to Paris for two nights. The first day there we arrived super late due to major traffic. One thing I quickly learned about Paris, is that the traffic gave NY a run for its money lol. It's a super congested city. We made the best of the first night in Paris and headed into town to eat. That night France had won a game in the Euro Cup so the streets were crowded with chanting fans. I thought Yankee fans were bad but boy France represents their country lol.
I'm going to be very honest about my first impression of Paris. I wasn't wowed or felt that magic your "supposed to feel" being in Paris. The streets were filled with so much graffiti and just garbage everywhere. I'm from NY so that's the surrounding I grew up in but totally didn't expect that from Paris. I guess society has over hyped Paris to be such a fairy tale like looking place. At first I thought it was just me but everyone in our tour felt the exact same way and I thought that was pretty interesting.
The second day we did all the touristy things. We got a tour of the Norte Dame Cathedral and it was breath taking, truly a beautiful cathedral with amazing architecture. We also go to see the Champs-Elysees, the Louvre and of course the Eiffel Tower! When we got to the Eiffel Tower that's when I started to feel the whole "I'm in Paris" feeling. The tower is really gorgeous in person. We wanted to go all the way up or at least mid level but the line was super long. We decided to eat some ice cream and just enjoy looking at the tower. We passed by the Musee de Orsay but again the line was super long to wait in. Paris is a real crowded city.
At night we had a farewell dinner with our tour group and it was so much fun. I wish I could have snapped all the fun from the restaurant but I had no service in there. The entire restaurant staff definitely made sure everyone was entertained and laughing. It was a night full of fun memories with people we only knew for 12 days. It was a real fun group!
Overall Paris was fun and a great experience but I definitely didn't feel that ahh feeling I thought I was going to have.
My prayers go out to France as tragically yesterday there was a attack in Nice, France. I'm seriously praying for love for this world.
Thank you guys for reading my travel posts this week. This Euro trip was truly amazing and left me with so many memories. Europe is filled with so many beautiful places and I would love to explore more of it in the future.
Wishing you guys and amazing weekend.
